During the audio launch of his upcoming film Vishwanath and Sons in Coimbatore on August 2, actor Suriya Sivakumar delivered a heartfelt speech addressing love, modern relationships, and lifelong commitment. Acknowledging that contemporary dating dynamics often feature terms like benching, ghosting, and situationships, Suriya emphasized that the fundamental core of partnership should remain anchored in enduring love.
“I think love should be everlasting. It should not last only until marriage or until the moment you get married. You should love your partner every day. Even after 20 years, you should continue loving them and giving them the respect they deserve,” Suriya noted.
Reflecting on personal growth, the actor pointed out that human priorities, goals, and perspectives inevitably evolve over time. He explained that an individual at 20 possesses a different outlook compared to when they are 25 or 30, but stressed that while personal ambitions change, affection for one’s partner should never fade.
Emphasizing Respect and Acknowledging Women’s Sacrifices:
Shifting focus to family dynamics and the contributions of women, Suriya urged men to offer wholehearted appreciation and unwavering support to their partners. Highlighting the disproportionate burdens often shouldered by women particularly after marriage and motherhood the actor called for deep respect over routine gestures.
“When a man has to go somewhere, it might take him an hour. But for a woman, it could take even 10 hours. After marriage, when they become mothers and take care of the household, they are often the ones who make compromises… When they succeed, one should salute them 100 per cent, not just the usual 10 per cent. Stand by them as much as possible. More than love, give them respect,” he stated.
Suriya and actor Jyotika previously tied the knot on September 11, 2006, marking nearly two decades of marriage. On the professional front, Vishwanath and Sons is directed by Venky Atluri and features an ensemble cast including Mamitha Baiju, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, and Nassar. With music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, the family entertainer is scheduled to hit cinema screens worldwide on August 14.
