Mr. Dr Hanimi Reddy Lakireddy

Dr Hanimi Reddy, hails from Velvadam, a small village in Krishna Dist. completed his medical graduation in 1966 and reached New York in 1972 and Bay Area (Merced, CA) in 1984 and started practicing. He used to see nearly 30-40 patients a day in those days and retired from his practice in 2024 after completing 40 years of service. Dr Hanimi Reddy is known for his philanthropic activities as he donated Millions of Dollars from his earnings to the Telugu community in USA and India and his donations started from developing schooling facilities in Velvadam, Mylavaram villages to Kakayeeya Medical college, Warangal where he studied his medicine. Dr Hanimi Reddy also donated to Merced College, where he lives in California and also to University of Silicon Andhra, Milpitas, California to name a few of his philanthropic activities.

Mr. Jayaram Komati

Mr. Jayaram Komati, hails from Velvadam, a small village in Krishna Dist. Came to USA in 1986 for his master’s and started Hotel Swagat in 1990 and became one of the first-generation Entrepreneurs in USA and a mentor to several Telugu persons entering restaurant business in USA. He became a community leader at very young age by serving as Chairman of FIA of Northern America in 2001 and President of the same in 2003. He held several positions in TANA including its President in 2009-11period. He started Telugu Times as its Chairman in 2003, later Paatasala in 2013 promoting Telugu language in USA. He became the Resident Representative of North America for Govt of AP in 2016-19 and again in 2026 and is presently serving the community in the same position.

Mr. Venu Aasuri & Mrs. Vijaya Aasuri

Mr. Venu Aasuri and Mrs. Vijaya Aasuri came to Bay area in 1990 and very soon became a known names in the Community. Mrs. Vijaya Aasuri took active role in Bata (Bay Area Telugu Association, 2 nd oldest Telugu Association in USA) became its President and is serving the community though BATA Leadership position as Adviser & Board Member and also Founder Executive team member of AIA (Association of Indo Americans) thus serving the Indian community in several ways. Mrs. Vijaya Aasuri also started VIRIJALLU, the Radio station and is offering Telugu Radio services to the community for the last 20 years. Mrs. Vijaya Aasuri also actively involved with Telugu Times in starting Paatasala, the Telugu learning facilities to Telugu children.

Mr. Anand Kuchibhotla.

Mr. Anand Kuchibhotla, hailing from Machilipatnam, came to USA for Master’s in xxxx and went back to India. Later he came to USA in 1987 and started working in Yahoo and other IT companies in Bay Area. He as a Founder Chairman Started Silicon Andhra, a Cultural organization in 2001 promoting Telugu culture & language. Later Silicon Andhra started MANA BADI in 2007 developing Telugu teaching facilities in NRI Telugu children in USA and became very popular among all States reaching to a 10000 students per year. Mr. Anand Kuchibhotla, as President started University of Silicon Andhra in 2016 which was later renamed as Area University offering master’s degree in Classical dances like Kuchipudi and Bharata Natyam, Carnatic Music, Hindustani Music, Telugu and Sankrit and also Ph.D. Programs in these Arts. It started Aria University of Medicine also recently. Mr. Anand Kuchibhotla is a known Leader in USA and Telugu States.

Mr. Raju Indukuri

Mr. Raju Indukuri, a Serial Entrepreneur, angel Investor and Mentor with a successful track record in tech ventures across AI, smart infrastructure, IoT, clean energy, and automation. He came to USA for his Masters in 1992 and later started his first venture – Reachnet International Inc in 1997. Mr. Raju Indukuri Cofounded several successful ventures like Intelliguard Software, Valence Energy, and Quantela. He is also one of the Cofounders for Falcon X, a B2B Incubation Center. Mr. Raju Indukuri is also currently involved in developing Sri City International University, Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India’s First industry- led, work -study dual mode education system, started recently (July 2026)

Mrs. Jhansi Reddy & Dr Rajendar Reddy Hanumandla

Mrs. Jhansi Reddy from Lakireddy family came to Bay area when she was 11 years a d studied in Bay area. Married to Dr Rajendar Reddy Hanumandla in 1982. As a Co-Founder for Raj Properties, a California based very popular Real Estate management company. Along with Dr Rajendar, established Hanumandla Rajendar & Jhansi Reddy Foundation and conducted several community development activities and charity activities in Education, Healthcare and Skill development in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mrs. Jhansi Reddy established WETA ( Women Empowerment Telugu Association), a National Organization exclusively for and with women. She joined Indian National Overseas Congress, California and took an active role. In 2023, she moved to Telangana state and supported her daughter in law, Mrs. Mamidala Yasaswini Reddy winning Palakurthy assembly constituency in Telangana and continued her activities for the development of the constituency and Telangana state. She also became Vice President of Telangana Congress Committee (TPCC) and in charge of Secunderabad Parliament constituency.

Dr Rajendar Hanumandla, a very popular Cardiologist, served thousands of patients for more than 3 decades. He is also known for his charity activities through their Foundation.

Dr Ramesh Konda

Dr Ramesh Konda holds a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems, an M.B.A., and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and is a IT Professional with extensive experience in software development, data analytics, data management etc. .. currently is working with Forsys Inc. Mr. Ramesh Konda arrived Bay area in 1996 and is a known community leader because of his vast community service activities with BATA (Bay Area Telugu Association). He functioned as President for BATA and has been functioning as an Adviser and Board Member to BATA. Mr. Ramesh Konda also takes an active role in AIA (Association of Indo Americans) and involves several national activities. Mr. Ramesh Konda is particularly known for his continuous services as a liaison person between NRI community and Officials of various Federal Govt agencies / Professional bodies/ Consul General officials etc.

Mr. Venkat Maddipati & Mrs. Visala Maddipati

Mr. Venkat Maddipati & Mrs. Visala Maddipati came to Bay Area in May 1996. Mr. Venkat is graduate of IIT, Kanpur and has been working for more than 3 decades in several Software companies and currently is in Oracle. Both Me Venkat and Mrs. Visala joined Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF) in 2001 when Guntur hospital project was initiated and led that project. Mr. Venkat is a Board member of Sankara Eye Foundation and has been working in SEF projects ( 29 Hospitals in 14 States India serving with out fees to 80% poor and with fees to only 20%). At present SEF Hospitals serve around 9 lakh patients per year including 4.50 lakh free Eye surgeries per year. Both Venkat and Visala are known for their service to SEF all these 25 years.

Mr. Raju Reddy

Mr. Raju Reddy is one of the early comers to USA and to Bay Area. After his graduation from BITS Pilani, Raju Reddy moved to Virginia Tech University, USA for his Maters in 1981. He joined Intel in 1983 and worked for 10 years. He founded Siarra Atlantic in 1993 and made it one of the globally known companies with 2400 employees before it got acquired by Hitachi in 2011. Mr. Raju Reddy is a Serial Entrepreneur and Mentor to several IT Entrepreneurs. He also took active role and functioned as President of TiE Silicon Valley, which is one of world’s most popular networking organization for Entrepreneurs. Mr. Raju Reddy also founding Member and Past president of SIPA (Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association) which helps Indian IT Companies connected to Global IT Giants. Mr. Raju Reddy is Co-founded Kakatiya San Box, a Nonprofit organization head quartered at Nizamabad, Telangana working for rural development, social innovation and entrepreneurship and impacting the lives of over 2.5 million in Northern Telangana.

Mr. J P Vejendla

Mr. Jaya Prasad Vejendla, popularly known as JP in Community and Business circles, arrived in USA in the 90s and in Bay Area in 1998. He is an IT Entrepreneur and currently runs his own company Forsys Inc in Milpitas, CA and is involved in several innovative and enterprising projects. JP is instrumental in conceptualizing, starting and managing FALCON X, an IT Incubation center helping IT Start Ups in Silicon Valley. JP is also involved in several community developmental activities and a liaison person between Silicon Valley IT industry and Govt Officials from Telugu states as and when required. JP is currently handling ICCC (Integrated Command Control Center) for TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams) which has become successful as India’s First AI-integrated facility for crowd management, security, and pilgrim services.

Mr. Anjaneyulu Krothapalli

Mr. Anjaneyulu Krothapalli, perhaps one of the very early comers to Bay Area on our list of Icons. He came as a student to Tennessee in 1973 and then moved to Stanford University in 1975 and did his Master’s and Ph.D. also. Though he went out of Bay area in the early stages and is a resident of Bay area from that time onwards. He along with Mr. Venkateswara Rao Vellanki and Mr. Satyanarayana Bodapati worked for starting a Telugu Association. Later BATA ( Bay Area Telugu Association) was formed

Mr. Vijay Chava

Mr. Vijay Chava came to Bay area in 1998 and has been functioning as an active community leader in terms service, guidance and mentoring activities, He was instrumental in starting Telangana Cultural Forum (TCF ) promoting rich cultural heritage of Telangana much before State was formed. Conducted cultural programs, charitable initiatives and youth activities etc. He also founded and managed HELLO TELANGANA RADIO, a media platform connecting diaspora with distinguished leaders. Mr. Vijay Chava is the Founder and CEO of YemPover, a technology consulting company supporting non profit organizations and community partnerships. One of his Initiatives is Interfaith harmony and Social unity by conducting IFTAR Dinners which were well appreciated and he was honored by Andhra Muslim Association of North America

Mr. Prasad Mangina

Mr. Prasad Mangina came to USA in 1993 itself and to Bay area in 1997..has been functioning as an IT Professional in Silicon Valley. Joined BATA in 2003 and functioned as its President and continued his services as Past President and Advisor all these years. Taken an active role in launching PAATASALA along with Telugu Times in 2013 and continued his services to Paatasala. Currently he Co Chair to Paatasala National leadership team. Mr Prasad has also been conducting Karaoke , a weekly program for the last 18 years promoting singing talent among children and adults

Mr. Dileep Kondiparthi

Mr. Dileep Kondiparthi came to USA in 1993 and to Bay area in 1996 and has been working as an IT Professional. Mr. Dilip Kondiparhi is working with Viva Systems and is known for his expertise in leading AI/ML and generative AI-driven transformations while driving Agile project delivery, intelligent automation initiatives, and cloud infrastructure rollout

Mr. Dilip Kondiparthi Co-Founded Silicon Andhra in 2001 along with Sri Anand Kuchibhotla.  As its Vice Chairman, he has been working in the leadership will all the activities of Silicon Andhra for the last 25 years.
