The Los Angeles Telugu Association (LATA) has officially announced the upcoming LATA Sports Mela 2026, bringing together the Telugu community in Southern California for a massive multi-sport competitive event. Featuring five distinct sporting disciplines, the event is designed to engage participants of all ages across multiple regional locations.

The sports mela encompasses five major competitions spanning various dates from September to October 2026:
Volleyball: Matches will be held across 4 locations, with preliminary dates scheduled on 09/26 (Irvine, Cypress, Santa Clarita) and 09/27 (Inland Empire). The quarters through championship rounds will take place in Cerritos on Saturday, October 10th.
Women’s Throw-Ball: Prelims through championship matches are scheduled to take place in Cerritos on Saturday, October 10th.
Pickleball: Preliminary rounds will be played at local courts of the participants’ convenience between 09/12 and 10/09, leading up to the final round in Cerritos on Saturday, October 24th.
Adults Carroms: Conducted across 6 locations with regional dates including Arcadia (09/12), Irvine (09/13), Menifee/Murrieta (09/13), Eastvale/Ontario (09/20), Santa Clarita (10/04), and Cypress (09/27), recognizing winners by location.
Kids Chess: Also organized across 6 locations matching the carroms schedule—Arcadia (09/12), Irvine (09/13), Menifee/Murrieta (09/13), Eastvale/Ontario (09/20), Santa Clarita (10/04), and Cypress (09/27).
