Aurobindo Pharma has officially launched the generic version of Advair Diskus (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder) in the United States through its wholly owned subsidiary, Lannett Company LLC. Originally developed by GSK plc, the generic product has been introduced in 100/50 mcg and 250/50 mcg strengths. Announced on August 31, 2026, the launch marks a significant milestone for the company’s respiratory portfolio as the first commercialized product from its inhalation pipeline in the US. According to Aurobindo Pharma, the rollout reflects its ongoing strategic focus on expanding its portfolio of complex and differentiated inhalation therapies.
The generic inhalation powder combines fluticasone propionate and salmeterol, a combination therapy clinically indicated for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
