Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on September 1 that the University of London and Northeastern University in Boston will establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad. The development marks a major milestone in the state government’s ongoing mission to transform Hyderabad into a leading global knowledge hub.
International Academic Collaborations:
Detailing the outcomes of his recent international delegations, Chief Minister Reddy highlighted that discussions with prominent institutions during his visit to the UK including Oxford University, Cambridge University, SOAS London, Imperial College, the London Business School (LBS), and the London School of Economics have yielded positive results. Furthermore, interactions with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other prestigious Ivy League and American universities have progressed well, paving the way for local youth to access world-class education directly within Hyderabad.
Additionally, Reddy revealed that Harvard University and several of its constituent schools have expressed strong interest in offering select academic courses and programs in Telangana. The announcement follows a delegation visit to the UK, though plans to extend subsequent academic dialogues directly to the United States were impacted after the Narendra Modi government did not grant travel permissions for that leg of the tour.
