The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation successfully raised approximately $222,000 in donations and pledges through its latest community fundraising campaign. These funds will support educational and holistic development initiatives across rural and tribal communities in Bharat.
Impact and Village Reach:
The financial support secured during the campaign is projected to fund the equivalent of 252 Ekal schools. Additionally, approximately three special development projects are anticipated to reach around 30 villages each, extending the total potential impact to approximately 342 villages.
Annual Gala and Cultural Program:
The campaign concluded with a grand event on August 28 at the Granville Arts Center, bringing together donors, sponsors, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters. Marked as one of the chapter’s strongest events in terms of attendance and participation, the evening opened with a ceremonial diya lighting, the national anthems of the United States and India, and a special Shraddhanjali honoring the late Dhiren Kuntawala, the first president of Ekal DFW.
The cultural segment featured a presentation titled “Kathak on the Silver Screen” by DFW-based Kathak Rhythms, highlighting traditional Indian art forms while emphasizing community engagement and cultural heritage. Meenu Suhalka, president of the Ekal Vidyalaya DFW Chapter, expressed deep gratitude to the local community, emphasizing that the milestone figures represent vital opportunities in education, Sanskar, and sustainable development.
