Fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is continuing its footprint expansion across San Jose, signing a long-term lease for a new location within a mixed-use development in West San Jose, according to Santa Clara County and city planning documents.
Lease Details and Development Plans:
The 15-year lease agreement which includes options for up to 25 additional years of extensions covers a 5,200-square-foot building situated on a 0.7-acre parcel at 4400 Stevens Creek Blvd. Plans for the site outline a modern restaurant equipped with a drive-through, outdoor seating, and a dedicated surface parking lot.
The new Chick-fil-A is slated to anchor a portion of the upcoming mixed-use community known as Stevens Creek Promenade. City files indicate the wider project layout incorporates multi-family housing featuring an initial phase centered on a 173-unit affordable apartment complex alongside a planned 250-room hotel.
Broader San Jose Expansion Strategy:
This latest lease marks another milestone in Chick-fil-A’s ongoing growth mode within the city, following historical friction regarding past proposals, such as community pushback in 2019 over a proposed site near San Jose International Airport.
The brand currently operates locations in the area, including a site at 3123 Silver Creek Road following a $4.5 million land acquisition. Furthermore, expansion proposals are underway for additional sites, including a planned restaurant on a former surface parking lot property located at 4785 Hamilton Ave. in Southwest San Jose near the Westgate Center shopping mall.
