Yash-led period gangster action thriller Toxic has officially concluded its North American box office run on a dismal note, mirroring heavy domestic struggles with equally disappointing overseas figures. Despite sky-high expectations as Yash’s highly anticipated follow-up to the historic blockbuster KGF Chapter 2, the film suffered from weak momentum during pre-sales and failed to recover post-release due to overwhelmingly poor word-of-mouth. Persistent production delays and underwhelming early promotional material had already dampened pre-release buzz, setting the stage for a steep uphill battle in overseas markets.
Collection Breakdowns and Language-Wise Performance:
The movie registered a modest North American opening day of $886,000 (roughly Rs 8.49 crore), which included $600,000 (around Rs 5.75 crore) from preview and premiere shows. Following this subdued start, collections experienced a sharp, continuous decline, ultimately closing its run below the $1.8 million milestone. Final box office tallies show Toxic grossed $1.71 million (approximately Rs 16.38 crore) across the region, with the USA contributing $1.14 million (Rs 10.92 crore) and Canada bringing in $570,000 (Rs 5.46 crore). Regionally by language, the Hindi version led with $701,000 (Rs 6.72 crore), followed closely by Telugu at $580,000 (Rs 5.56 crore), Kannada at $380,000 (Rs 3.64 crore), Tamil at $33,000 (Rs 31 lakh), English at $14,500 (Rs 13.89 lakh), and Malayalam pulling in just $1,500 (Rs 1.44 lakh).
