This sacred festival marks the auspicious birth star (Krittika Nakshatram) of Lord Muruga, also known as Subrahmanya. The temple celebrations are structured with a series of sacred rituals scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening:
4:00 PM: Sankalpam commencement followed by the 108 Shankha Puja and Poornabhishekam.
4:30 PM: The performance of the 108 Shankha Abhisheka, accompanied by the divine Mayura Vahana Seva dedicated to Lord Murugan, Goddess Valli, and Goddess Devasena.
6:00 PM: Archana rituals performed for the deities.
