According to CHP Sergeant Andrew Barclay, the pedestrian was walking directly in the lanes of traffic when the collision happened. The driver involved stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities, and officials noted that the driver’s identity and vehicle description, along with whether impairment played a role, were not immediately disclosed.
