The Vedic Cultural and Spiritual Center at the Shiva Vishnu Temple of San Diego has announced that registration for the entire 2026-27 academic year of Bala Bhavan is officially open as it enters its 26th year. Weekly classes are scheduled to begin on September 12, 2026, meeting every Saturday at the temple from 5:00 PM to 6:00/6:15 PM, excluding most long weekends and select fifth Saturdays.
The program is entirely volunteer-driven and offers diverse learning activities, including shlokas, bhajans, stories, art, student presentations, quizzes, clay Ganesha making for Vinayaka Chaturthi, student-led pujas conducted by priests, talent shows, summer picnics, field trips, newsletters, nominal-cost summer camps, and participation in temple events.
Age groups and grades are categorized as of September 1, 2026:
Toddlers: Pre-K & K (Age 4 and above)
Juniors: Grades 1-4
Seniors: Grades 5-8
Super Seniors: Grades 9-12
