Shri Krishna Vrundavana Temple, operating under the auspices of the Sujnana Religious & Charitable Foundation located at 43 Sunol Street, San Jose, CA, has announced the upcoming Yajurveda Upakarma (Avani Avittam) 2026. The sacred rituals are scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00 AM to 08:00 AM.
Program Details and Schedule:
The sacred event begins at 06:00 AM with Panchagavya and Punyahavachana, followed at 06:30 AM by Upakarma Homa and Kamo’karsheeth Japam. At 06:45 AM, NavaKaanda Rushi & Vedavyasa Pooja will be performed, leading up to Yajnopavita Dharanam at 07:15 AM. The main ceremonies conclude starting at 08:00 AM with Brahma Yajna, Deva-Rishivadi Tarpana, Veda Arambha, Dana, Dakshina, Poornahuthi, and Mangalarathi, which will be followed immediately by Theertha Prasadam and a light breakfast.
Dress Code, Guidelines, and Items to Bring:
Attendees must strictly follow the dress code, ensuring that a Dothi and Shawl are worn. Additionally, Noothana Brahmachari who had their Upanayana recently are required to arrive at the temple by 6:30 AM along with their parents. Participants are also requested to bring specific ritual items, including fruits, flowers, coins, milk, and two coconuts.
