SAN JOSE, CA — The Association of Indo Americans (AIA), in partnership with Bolly 92.3 FM, has announced the SWADES 2026 celebration to mark India’s 80th Independence Day alongside the 250th anniversary of the USA. The event will be held on August 15, 2026, at Plaza de Cesar Chavez (1 Paseo de San Antonio, San Jose, CA 95113).

Billed as one of the largest multinational parades in California, the festivities will feature a “Grand India Day Parade with Floats” alongside a day-and-night mela. Admission to the venue is free for all attendees.

Schedule & Major Attractions:
Event & Mela Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Grand Parade: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Key Zones & Activities: Live performances, cultural showcases, a food festival, a shopping and exhibition bazaar, and a dedicated kids’ zone.

The event is supported by local civic organizations, including the San Jose Downtown Association and NBC Bay Area
