Michael Boulos, the son-in-law of United States President Donald Trump, visited Alappuzha, Kerala, on August 8, enjoying a houseboat excursion through the region’s rain-soaked backwaters under heavy security protocols managed by the Kerala Police. Boulos, who is married to Tiffany Trump, traveled to Alappuzha with the official designation of State Guest granted by the Kerala government. He was accompanied by an eight-member delegation that included Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador to India. Observers have noted that members of the Trump family and their inner circle frequently blend private enterprise interests with official diplomatic backing.
Weather Disruptions and Itinerary Highlights:
Due to heavy rainfall that battered the district over preceding days, the primary entry point leading to Punamada Lake experienced severe flooding. Consequently, law enforcement officials were required to establish an alternate route to securely escort Boulos to his houseboat. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, Boulos appeared to take pleasure in the excursion, stepping out onto the vessel’s deck to wave at local crowds that gathered after word of his presence spread. In addition to their journey through the backwaters, Boulos and Ambassador Gor toured the historic Mattancherry synagogue located in Kochi.
