The Hindu Community and Cultural Center has announced its Youth & Education program featuring the “BalaJyothi Course: Slokas, Stories & Festivals” for the Summer 2026 term. Designed to illuminate young hearts through devotion, learning, and culture, the eight-week in-person course offers children the opportunity to connect with Hindu prayers and spiritual heritage.
Schedule and Venue
Time: Every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, starting June 6, 2026.
Location: Hindu Heritage Hall, Administration Building, Livermore Temple, CA.
Target Audience and Curriculum:
The course is tailored for children ages 5 to 13. Under the instruction of Chitra Vijay, students will focus on learning meaningful slokas dedicated to the presiding deities of the Shiva-Vishnu Temple. The curriculum emphasizes proper pronunciation, memorization, comprehension, and confident chanting. In addition to prayers, young learners will explore the inspiring stories behind temple deities and upcoming Hindu festivals, helping them link daily rituals to their deeper spiritual significance.
