Legendary Tollywood comedian Kanneganti Brahmanandam, celebrated globally for his iconic onscreen performances and a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri, has found himself at the center of personal headlines. While the veteran actor is renowned for bringing laughter to millions across more than 1,000 films, his personal life has recently come under scrutiny following emotional statements from his elder brother, Vadan.
In recent interviews with Telugu media outlets, Vadan opened up about a deep personal rift, claiming that his famous younger brother no longer reaches out or checks in on him. Highlighting the diminishing size of their family, Vadan shared that four of their siblings have passed away, leaving only the two of them.
“We were siblings; four have passed away, and only two of us remain. I am the only one left here in our hometown, all alone. He visited the town recently but left without even exchanging a word of greeting. I keep hoping that my younger brother might call someday and ask, ‘Annayya, how are you?’ But he never calls me,” Vadan expressed with visible sorrow.
Born in Sattenapalli, Andhra Pradesh, Brahmanandam rose from humble beginnings to scale the pinnacle of Indian cinema, earning national recognition and a place in cinematic history. However, Vadan laments that fame and a hectic schedule have created a distance between them.
While acknowledging Brahmanandam’s status as a busy film star, Vadan believes familial bonds should transcend professional commitments.
“He is a big actor. He might be busy with film shootings, but he can surely spare one or two minutes to call me,” Vadan added, highlighting the profound isolation he feels living alone in their hometown while his brother enjoys an illustrious career in the limelight.
As these remarks circulate across news channels, fans and well-wishers hope for a reconciliation between the brothers, bringing a poignant personal chapter of the comedy icon’s life into the public eye.
