As part of the cultural showcase, Midde Parashuram, the grandson of Midde Ramulu, traveled to the United States from Andhra Pradesh with his troupe to perform the ancient Oggu Katha tradition. A key highlight of the evening was the honoring of classical dance and music gurus who have been teaching across various US cities for the past 25 years.
Speaking at the event, SiliconAndhra Founding Vice Chairman Sri Dilip Kondiparti announced that a 120-member cast will perform the drama Daksha Yagnam tomorrow evening. He noted that this marks the first time such a play will be staged in an arena layout, where the performance takes place in the center with audience seating arranged on all four sides.
SiliconAndhra Founder Dr. Anand Kuchibhotla personally acknowledged and felicitated the key donor families who served as pillars for the celebration. Under the leadership of SiliconAndhra President Priya Tanugula, prominent gurus leading various art performances at the Silver Jubilee celebrations were formally honored on stage.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including senior BJP leader K. Muralidhar Rao, official spokesperson Vamaraju Satyamurthy, former Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Andhra Pradesh Nataka Academy Chairman Gummadi Gopalakrishna, and renowned poet and writer Jonnavithula.
Traditional Banana Leaf Feast:
While Telugu community organizations in the United States typically host lavish inaugural banquet dinners with buffet setups where guests queue to serve themselves, SiliconAndhra’s Silver Jubilee banquet dinner reflected the true spirit of an authentic Telugu feast. Guests were seated comfortably and served a full six-flavor meal (Shadrasopetham) alongside hot pakodas directly on traditional banana leaves. By serving thousands of attendees in this traditional manner, SiliconAndhra once again proved itself as a benchmark for authentic Telugu hospitality.
