Actor Ravi Teja is reportedly reconsidering his upcoming cinematic timeline following the unexpected, blockbuster box office run of Irumudi, which has already amassed over ₹180 crores in gross collections. Initially, plans were locked for his next venture directed by Hasith Goli and bankrolled by prominent producer Dil Raju to target a major theatrical release during the Sankranthi 2027 festival season. Backed by Dil Raju’s robust distribution network, the project would have easily secured substantial theater allocations despite heavy festive competition.
However, inspired by Irumudi’s stellar performance, Ravi Teja has allegedly requested the production team to slow down the development pace. Rather than rushing to capitalize solely on holiday footfall, the actor aims to prioritize creative depth and execution to ensure stronger box office sustainability. This strategic pivot comes as the Sankranthi 2027 box office race heats up, with several high-profile projects already locked in, including Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka, the Venkatesh-Anil Ravipudi collaboration Vidudala (slated for January 12), Sai Dharam Tej’s Sambarala Yeti Gattu, and Sharwanand’s George Krish, alongside a slew of other anticipated releases.
