The English version of the Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to release in select theatres across India. Although the film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, premiered worldwide alongside its other language cuts, the English version’s Indian theatrical release was delayed.
The makers confirmed that this version will feature a shorter runtime compared to the Indian language editions. According to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) details, the Kannada version runs for approximately 3 hours and 14 minutes, whereas the English cut is trimmed down to about 2 hours and 56 minutes, with both versions securing an ‘A’ certificate. Ticket bookings for the English version have already opened in major urban centers, including Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Audience Response and Cast Overview:
The announcement has sparked mixed reactions and discussions across social media platforms. While fans expressed excitement over the shorter runtime, others questioned why the English cut was withheld from Indian screens on Day 1. Viewers also discussed whether the compressed edit would resolve earlier criticisms regarding the film’s pacing and length.
Co-written, produced, and headlined by Yash, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features a prominent ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
